Post a SOAP this week.  Post in the comment section of the post.  May God richly bless you as you seek His heart and hear from His Holy Spirit.

Scripture
Take time reading and allow God to speak to you. When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you that day, and write it out.

Observation: the Holy Spirit showed you(personal)
What do you think God is saying to you in this scripture? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you. Paraphrase and write this Scripture in your own words.

Application: the Holy Spirit revealed
Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, revelation of a new promise, or corrections for a particular area of your life. Write how this Scripture can apply to you today.

Prayer: the Holy Spirit brought to heart
This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this Scripture, or it may be a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! Now, write it out.

Scripture: Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Observation: The verse expresses the admonition to look out for the interests of others as well as your own..

Application: I purpose to actively pursue or seize opportunities to look out for the interests of others.

Prayer: Dear God, please free me from only thinking and actively looking out only for my own interests and release me into a life where I consider how I can help others out.

A little repetitive I suppose but oh well...…….

Perhaps repetitive ... but well worth repeating. Important in these times. Thanks.

S-- Psalm 61:2 "When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I."

O-- Our hearts get overwhelmed. David's heart did. Then he asked God to lead him to that higher place.

A-- I don't have to climb onto that rock by myself. I can ask God to take me there.

P--Dear Lord, please do lead me to the rock, your place of safety and refuge, your rock Jesus. Take me to that place away from "I", away from my own thoughts, fears, feelings about the virus and the state of the world that can overwhelm me. I take your hand as you lead me above all that to your rock.

I like the visual of high on a rock. It's there we often see not only a beautiful view, but get a better perspective. This was nice, makes me feel calm.

S - Deuteronomy 8:3 - Yes, he humbled you by letting you get hungry and then feeding you manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread along, rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

O - That I do not need all the things I think I want. If I live by Gods word then he will provide everything I need. God let us go hungry and then fed us. He did this to humble us. He wanted us to know that we need to live by His word that he would provide what we needed.

A - To continue to read and apply Gods word in my life. I could not read his word before I was saved, now when I pick up the Bible I just read and read. I get pretty excited. I need to pray to God to understand his word better as I read.

P - Glorious Father, thank you so much for dying for my sins. You are such a righteous and card God. Thank you for all you do in my life. God I ask that you help me understand your word as I read it and to remember what I have read. Thank you God for giving me the excitement to read your word and the people you have put in my life to help me understand your word. I love you God with all my heart and soul. You are so gracious to me. Amen

Scripture: You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Psalm 56:8 ESV

Observation: God is tender hearted.

Application: Tears are ok in this time of unnatural stress, take comfort in the knowledge God not only sees our tears but they are precious to Him.

Prayer: Thanks Dad! Love you right back!

Scripture: Psalm 23:4 "Even though I walk through the valley of death. I fear no evil; for Thou art with me."

Observation: This passage came to mind as I received great news yesterday. I learned a good friend of mine, Carlos Basurto from the Sonoma County Sheriffs Departrment, was released from the hospital after contracting the virus. He nearly died. The first thing he posted was how God saved him, He told us that once they started him on the ventilator protocol he thought he was a dead man.

Application: During this time of fear and uncertainly, we need to walk under the protective wings of our Heavenly Father. Come what may, He will guide us home.

Prayer: Father, we thank you that you are in charge. May we continue to give you praises even in this storm. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
